Member Code of Conduct

As a member of Career Development Professionals of Ontario (CDPOntario), you are part of a diverse and inclusive community committed to professional excellence in career development. We believe in maintaining high standards of professionalism, respect, and integrity in the way our members interact with each other, and in how our association engages in communities across Ontario.

Our Member Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for all CDPOntario members. By following this Code and adhering to any other guidelines or policies established by CDPOntario, you contribute to a trusted and thriving community of career professionals across Ontario.

CDPOntario members agree to:

Professional Conduct, Respect & Inclusivity
  • Treat all individuals with respect, dignity, and fairness, without discrimination based on race, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or any other characteristic.

  • Foster a culture of mutual support, sharing best practices, resources, and knowledge to benefit the wider community of career development professionals.

  • Engage in respectful and constructive communication within the association’s community.

  • Address conflicts or disputes with professionalism, seeking resolution through respectful dialogue and, if necessary, the association’s established procedures.

  • Refrain from engaging in or condoning abusive, harassing, or unethical behaviour.

Confidentiality and Privacy
  • Obtain informed consent before sharing personal or professional information with third parties.

  • Respect the privacy and confidentiality of clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, ensuring that sensitive information is handled responsibly and securely.
